Mud was made for mending...

My mom asked me to come up with a couple of birthday gift ideas and as I was writing the list, I noticed a general theme:

1. Pedicure

2. Facial

3. Hair treatment

Someone needs a little self care...

I am definitely the kind of person that heads down the fast track at full speed. And now I am on a mission to make up for that!

I received some help this past week from my dear friend and knitting guru, Jennifer. Jenn and her mom, April, were the other mother-daughter duo at the knitting circle my mom and I joined back in the early 2010s (I wanted to learn how to make Harry Potter scarves... the rest is history). Jennifer has recently become obsessed with trying new face products, especially facial masks. The fascination has grown into what she dubs #MasqueradeFriday, a weekly spotlight of a new skin care product.

My mom and I get a kick out of it. From mud masks to a 24 carat gold gel (no joke), she has a pretty fabulous collection of quality skin care.

Because Jenn is amazing and legitimately one of the most caring and giving people I know, she came to our last knitting class with a bag filled to the brim with products for me to borrow and try leading up to the wedding. It took just about everything in me to not just put a mask on right then and there in the middle of the Claremont Packing House (I refrained only because of a delicious platter of peanut butter brownies also in front of me).

As Jenn continues #MasqueradeFriday,

I've decided to follow suit and start a #midweekmasquerade. First up: bring on the mud!!

A little went a long way with this Glam Glow Supermud clearing treatment. I was having some trouble with my T-zone, particularly my chin, so decided this mix would do just the trick. I slathered it on, to many laughs from Matt, and let it soak in for 20 minutes as we caught up on the latest episode of HBO's Hard Knocks (please, for the love of god and football, watch it. So good). In full disclosure, I broke out more in the days following this treatment, but that's how I knew it was working. The best facials and skin products help detoxify the skin. Yep, that's exactly what happened. But my chin is clear as can be now! Just in time for the serious wedding errands to commence! Coming up this week: more registering (racing the clock on this as bridal shower invites are about to go out!), tasting with the final catering (fingers crossed!), and trying on/picking up my wedding dress!! I really can't complain, I am extraoardinarily excited about each and every one of these. Nice new kitchen and home products? Yummy food? My dream dress?! Happy early birthday to me :)
