May the Fourth be with you.

Never did I ever think I would utter those words. But when you are marrying a man who owns more Star Wars shirts than regular shirts, proudly displays his Star Fleet, and watched Episode VII probably a good 10 times within the first week of owning the thing, there are things that you must concede.

Slight joking aside, I am happy to embrace Matt's nerdy side. Heck, he does the same for me! Last week we celebrated our four year dating anniversary by embracing our geekiness and visiting the brand new Harry Potter World at Universal Studies Hollywood. Dream come true.

[In a rare bit of magic, the wand in my hand is invisible... but it's there!]

It was magical. With wand, time turner, and scarf in tow, I traipsed my way through the wonderful world crafted by our beloved JK Rowling. Never mind the fact that Ollivanders Wand Shop, as did a number of other Diagon Alley establishments, were now dubbed as located in Hogsmeade, being able to be a patron at these emporiums made my heart so happy. We witnessed a sorting at Ollivanders, perused the Pumpkin Juice and candy case at Honeydukes, feasted with butterbeer at The Three Broomsticks, and toasted our day at the Hogs Head. We took part in a pep ralley for the Triwizard Tournament

[A spirited bunch]

We said hello to Buckbeak, and batted off a flock of dementors (Expecto Patronussss!)

It might not have been big, but it was magical to be able to walk about the "snow-lined" streets with a flock of Muggles with wands and pretend for a moment you are wizard. I'm still spellbound.

[Received my letter!]

Last week it was wizards and wands, this week it's the Rebel Alliance and light sabers. As alluded to in my opening, May 4 is often referred to as "Star Wars Day," though DROCK would kindly remind you, "People with speech impediments have feelings too, and you shouldn't make light of their condition, no matter how well it fits a pun that really isn't very clever anyway." For Matt, any reason to have a Star Wars marathon. The man took the day off work and is having people over to commemorate the occasion: we will have a full Mexican Feast to go along with the movies (Star Wars Day and Cinco De Mayo all wrapped up into one.

I have played my own part in making it a memorable celebration. I'll take any reason to get crafty in the kitchen. It started with a breakfast Luke Skywalker would be proud of - Princess Leia Buns, Chewbacca scrambled eggs, and blue milk.

April flew by without me holding true to my "pie a month" rule so I jumped back on the bandwagon with a Darth Malt. I hope to effectively convince our guests to join the dark side, and by dark side I mean dark chocolate malt pie with a chocolate graham crust.

The Force is strong with this one...
