Holy truffle mac n cheese, you guys, searching for a wedding caterer is the best. And so is Summit Event Catering. On Wednesday, Matt and I attended a second taste testing in our quest for wedding food oblivion. It was true nirvana.

I was impressed with Summit from the get go: they were quick to respond and even quicker to get me a mock menu with a quote. Just tell me how much it all costs, danggit! And mini chicken and waffles appetizers?! Yes please. I was crossing my fingers that I would like the food as much as I liked the quote because hot damn, much more affordable than the last caterer I had my eye on.

The testing was conducted in a little tasting room in a regular ole business park complex in Fullerton. Despite the plain jane setting, the small space is designed to look like a mini restaurant. I thought it was adorable. The personalized service and course-after-course of delicious foods (11 appetizers, a salad, five entrees, and a dessert in all), made for a pretty enjoyable experience. All the while our server Debbie was constantly refilling our tropical iced tea. I think Matt and I finished a pitcher each, that stuff was good! (I shamelessly dug into my cup to pull out a couple bits of strawberry. I know, I know...) They also gave us a to-go box, very handy when you have your eye on the prize: the salted caramel bread pudding at the end. All in all, I was pleased (and plump) by meal's end.

A couple highlights: well, naturally, the bread pudding.

Matt is not a fan of bread pudding, but I think the man might have licked his martini glass clean while we were all busy gobbling our own. It was like warm french toast swimming in caramel. More! Definitely makes you second guess wedding cake.

The second highlight, as indicated by the start o this thing: mac n cheeeeeeeeese.

Holy hell, lord almighty. It was hot, the panko bread crumbs were crisp, and the white truffle oil was seriously the most scrumptious thing I have ever eaten. Matt and I are considering small plate stations and currently have a mac n cheese station with truffle mac n cheese and buffalo mac n cheese. Ya, that's staying. You will all thank me.

Wednesday's food frenzy was the second fun bridal thing I got to do this week. I prepared for the food with a full-day of walking around the Bride World Expo at the Pomona Fairplex with my mom last Sunday.

The event runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and immediately you think, "That's tons of time!" That's what I thought. Holy hell, before you know it you are looking at your watch, your halfway through the event, and you haven't even made it to half the booths. There were tons of vendors - flowers and decor, djs, and photographers, which was nice since I am currently focused on the photos. I loved spending the quality time with my mom while making some headway in my vendor search.

Added bonus: this adorable hanger! (whoops, photo to come!) Now to start making plans to find a pretty white garment to hang from it :)

We capped off the full day with a delicious late lunch at Wahfles in La Verne. It's a small mom-and-pop that serves delicious savory and sweet waffles. The portions aren't too big so you don't have to worry about overindulging. We opted to share a savory "Little Nemo" tuna melt and a sweet "Salted Ganache", topped with chocolate, candied walnuts, applewood smoked bacon, and topped with ice cream.

The perfect amount of rich chocolate and refreshing, cool ice cream. We left feeling fully satisfied, but not weighed down as you would imagine you would be after the dessert I just described. Perfect portions.

My tummy and heart are full after this wonderful week of wedding fun. In addition to these wonderful events, I was surprised with a sweet gift from Kaitlang.

I have been wanting to get one of these shirts since the moment I got engaged. Actually before, if I'm totally honest, but that would have been weird. I plan to wear this every day henceforth! Thank you, Kaitlin!!!!

All of this definitely takes the edge off of the stress I am currently feeling with solidifying venue and photography!

Countdown to the Big Day: 337. Still feels safely far enough away. Lots to do, but having fun!

Sleep: No wedding nightmares that I can remember! Woot.

Best Moment of the Week: Spending quality time with people I love. Thank you mom for making me feel spoiled, I had so much fun with you.

Currently on my Mind: Wedding Contract Finalization. On pins and needles. Also, how the heck do we narrow down this list and pick a photographer!? It's hard and feels like a lot of pressure. So many pretty pictures. Step by step.

What I am Looking Forward to this Week: Hopefully having a photographer picked. Otherwise, a relaxing week ahead I think :)

Emotions: Slightly anxious because of contract, but really feeling very happy.
